Taking a specific number of specialties and continuing your pursuit of dives allows you to earn higher level of diver ratings. SSI's ratings are the only ratings in the industry that combine training and experiece requirements, proving that SSI ratings are truly earned!

Advanced Adventurer

Become an Advanced Adventurer today!The optional Advanced Adventurer can be the entry to continuing education and can be taken directly after you've finished your Open Water course! It is designed to show divers that don't know what to expect with certain specialties or those who cannot decide which specialty courses to take, what the specialties of their choice are all about. During the Advanced Adventurer Program you will have the chance to give 5 different specialties a try. You will complete one open water training dive per specialty in order to get a better understanding of each specialty. When you're finished with the Advanced Adventurer course, you can choose which of your selected specialties you want to complete, whether it's all of them or just one, that's entirely up to you!

Specialty Diver

Become a Specialty Diver today!The Specialty Diver Course is SSI's intermediate diver rating, which is higher than any other agency's advanced courses. You can start the course directly after your Open Water Diver course, or you can take the Advanced Adventurer course first if you're not entirely sure about which specialties you want to do. To earn the SSI Specialty Diver certification, you must complete 2 specialty courses and have done a total of 12 dives.

Become an Advanced Open Water Diver today!The SSI Advanced Open Water Diver Course stands alone in the industry with the highest combination of diving knowledge and experience. No other agency's advanced diver level compares! To earn the certification for Advanced Open Water Diver with SSI, you must complete 4 specialty courses and have done a total of at least 24 dives. Together with an SSI Instructor you will choose which specialties you want to do and when to do them. You can start with this certification right after tour Open Water Diver course or after the Advanced Adventurer or Specialty DIver courses, that's totally up to you again!

Stress & Rescue Diver

Become a Stress & Rescue diver today!Be prepared for unexpected emergencies! Through the SSI Stress & Rescue course you will learn how to prevent accidents, as well as how to handle problem situations if they do occur. The course is all about avoiding, recognizing and solving problems on the surface as well as under water. You will learn how to rescue yourself, recognize and manage stress of yourself and other divers, how to work with emergency equipment and how to manage an emergency and how to rescue panicked or unresponsive divers. Master Diver

One of the most elite ratings in recreational diving is SSI's Master Diver rating. Divers that have completed this level have combined the knowledge, the skills and the experience to truly call themselves Master Divers. To earn the certification for Master Diver, you must complete 4 specialty courses, be a Stress & Rescue Diver and have done a total of at least 50 dives.
